A Superjesus occurs as rock group from either Adelaide, Australia.

History

Lead singer & independent song-ballad maker Sarah McLeod formed the band within late 1994 with guitarist (& her guitar teacher at a instance) Chris Tennent, drummer Paul Berryman and bass player Stuart Rudd. It were originally known as Hell's Kitchen prior to changing their title to The Superjesus on the eve of the 1994 Big Day Out in Adelaide.

Says Paul Berryman of the title: "It was basically just a piss-take on commonly used words in the 90's. Like The Jesus and Mary Chain, 'Jesus Built My Hot Rod', Jesus Lizard, Jesus Jones; there's just heaps of Jesus' out there in the music world so we thought we would have that and super was kind of like a 90s catch word."

A class action's debut EP, "Eight Step Rail", was released inside Might 1996 & spent a few months in top of the Australian Independent stock and index charts and won a couple of ARIA awards.

100% has non universally easily by having a b& internally and within 1997 Chris Tennent temporarily left a band. Aaron Tokona from Wellington, New Zealand band Weta filled in, though chose to turn down the band's offer to turn into the lasting member.

It freed their debut album, Sumo, through Warner Music inside 1998 and its profits in Australithe led to a U.s.a. release. A band has freed 2 subsequent albums, Jet Age, in 2001, & Rock Music, in 2003. Completely albums following swell inside Australia.

Chris Tennant left a b& for good around 1999 and was replaced by Tim Henwood (who has since himself left to concentrate in his act sustaining The Androids). Jason Slack (an unofficial member) has since been playing guitars by having a band.

Inside June, 2004, a b& split by having Warner Music Australia and indicated it would choose period off when individial members pursued more projects. McLeod is said to become working in the solo album of poop non suited to the band. Her solo only freed inside 2005 is entitled "Let's Get Together", when her album to become freed in the equivalent season is known as Beauty Was A Tiger.

Recently there hwhen been great deal argument on top whether the b& has split: a total of articles describe McLeod and Berryman as "former" members. Fans prove my point to speculate on top low message boards, a bit of abstract thought that a writers of such articles go for it to conclusions fallowing seeing every member doing his/her have tool. A band has then far remained silent on this issue, although a band's internet site has disappeared.
